Allow me to introduce myself.

Hey there! I’m Dusty. 

I am passionate about combining creativity and strategy. I love shaping a brand’s identity, but not without doing consumer research beforehand. I’m excited to work on a client’s PR budget spreadsheet, but you can bet that I’m going to change the colors and fonts to match the brand board… and when you ask me if I’ve seen that latest TikTok trend, the answer is yes. My peers would describe me as outgoing, curious, ambitious, and resourceful, with a knack for problem-solving. My natural curiosity has led me to work in different industries (and pick up all sorts of hobbies!), which have all helped to shape me into a multi-dimensional marketer.

Let’s take it back a few chapters! I’m a Northern California native turned proud Texan. I was raised on a buffalo ranch (yep, you read that right!) by two generations of small business owners. Their entrepreneurial spirit has inspired me for as long as I can remember. I’m a graduate of Texas Christian University, where I earned degrees in Marketing and Finance while being on the university’s dance team. 

During and after college, I worked in commercial real estate finance as an Investment Sales Associate, honing my analytical skills and deepening my understanding of what motivates a purchase. At the same time, I was growing my freelance business in photography and digital marketing that I had started a year prior. I was shooting portraits, products, and brands, and working with clients on a variety of projects, including branding, storytelling, social media, logo design, and web design. I needed the vastly different challenges from both jobs to feel fulfilled. One day, it clicked for me; if there was a career that could combine my analytical skills with my natural creativity, I needed to pursue it. At that point, I transitioned my focus into marketing and growth strategy, where I get to use both skill sets each day to push people and businesses forward.

At present, I manage the social media team at a Dallas-based advertising agency, however, the nature of the role has enabled me to have my hands in many areas of digital marketing and public relations. On the social media side, I’m overseeing the development, design, and execution of over 30 client accounts. I’m presenting strategies to clients, setting creative direction, and leading my team; and whenever necessary, I’m jumping behind the camera to shoot content, editing Reels, creating graphics, and writing copy too. In addition to that, I also work in a broader marketing capacity, helping to craft and implement comprehensive, omnichannel strategies. I’ll brainstorm catchy tag-lines for ad campaigns, conduct research on consumer trends, present analytics to clients, and shape PR initiatives and partnerships regularly. In short, I do whatever it takes to help businesses tell their stories and grow.
